- What are essential oils?
- Essential oils are highly concentrated extracts of plants or herbs and include their all important phytochemicals. Each essential oil is extracted from different parts of the plant or herb and can include the leaves, roots, flowers or bark. The end result is a very effective and potent concentration of the superpower phytochemicals (plant power).
- Is it safe to breathe in essential oils?
- Yes! When using therapeutic grade essential oils, it is safe and beneficial. Just like breathing in essential oils from a diffuser, our inhaler works in the same manner, the aroma from the oils is breathed in.
- How does an essential oil inhaler work?
- Add drops of your favorite therapeutic grade essential oil to one of the 100% cotton inserts provided by Oil + Bark. The cotton insert, with the drops of essential oil applied, is then placed into the large opening, non beveled, end of the inhaler. Take a breath from the opposite end of the inhaler and ENJOY!
- I have a diffuser, why get an Oil + Bark inhaler?
- With a personal aromatherapy essential oil inhaler you get the benefits of essential oils wherever you go! No water or power is needed like a diffuser. It is really easy to switch between blends, simply remove the current cotton insert and replace it with another that has your new blend. There are benefits to both, so why not have both? - How long does the essential oil last on the cotton insert?
- Every essential oil has a different flavor and strength. On average, we have found through our own experience, and customer feedback, that a cotton insert with a blend of oils has peak flavor lasting around a week. Around this time frame, customers have reported that they tend to only have to reapply 1-2 drops to keep the flavor at its peak.
- Can I use any essential oil?
- No, Oil + Bark recommends only the use of therapeutic grade essential oils. Even within this category, it is recommended that oils of the highest quality be used. Oil + Bark uses Young Living essential oils due to their Seed to Seal promise of providing pure essential oils of the highest grade. Young Living is the only essential oil company we know controls the entire process from the farm to the distillery then to the bottling.

I’ve been smoking 45 years. In February, I bought a new car and didn’t want to stink it up with cigarette smoke. I can’t vape because it makes me physically ill. My daughter in law did some research and she’s a strong believer in essential oils. She came across Oil+Bark and asked if I would try it. Of course I will! I’ll try anything once. She got me the beech inhaler and black pepper oil and I tried it the next day. I drove the hour and 15 minute drive to work using this product. I have to say, it works! The normal physical feelings that come with not smoking weren’t there. I wasn’t grumpy or agitated. I now use it twice a day, (to and from work) and I haven’t smoked in my new car. Sometimes I “forget” to smoke when I get home. I added some cinnamon essential oil because it gave me some flavor. I’ve recommended this to long time smokers and vapers and I will continue to recommend. Who knows, maybe I’ll stop all together!
